Background

I grew up in the Greater Salt Lake area where I became passionate about the great outdoors and life-long learning. I am an avid fisherman, skier, camper, and outdoorsman.

Following my interests in archaeology, I earned a Bachelors of Science in Anthropology from Montana State University. While in Montana, I worked for several years at the Museum of the Rockies as a museum educator and discovered the wonders of hands-on education .

In 2003, I moved to the Bay Area for graduate school at JFK University, completing an MBA with an emphasis in Museum Studies. At the same time, I worked in the Exploratorium's Teacher Institute.  The Teacher Institute focused on teacher professional development for 6th through 12th grade math and science teachers. My four years there were amazing, but decided to reunite with the mountainous environment I love.

In October of 2007, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts hired me for the year as their Special Exhibitions Project Manager. I helped to bring in the Museum's first major blockbuster exhibition - Monet to Picasso From the Cleveland Museum of Art. The exhibition ran from June 23, 2008 to September 21, 2008  and was visited by over 75,000 people- more than double yearly attendance.

Currently, I am the Director of Programming at Thanksgiving Point.  Thanksgiving Point is the cultural gathering place for the community, promoting the renewal of mind and spirit in a beautiful and a family-friendly setting.  As a nonprofit, multi-museum complex, Thanksgiving Point is dedicated to providing visitors a one-of-a-kind, hands-on opportunity for discovery in a variety of educational programs, exhibitions, and public events.  www.thanksgivingpoint.org
